Policies

Health and Safety Policy:
The safety and wellbeing of every child in our care is at the heart of everything we do. We create a nurturing environment where children feel secure, confident, and free to explore the world around them. Our approach to health and safety is thoughtful and proactive. We carefully design our spaces to be safe, stimulating, and age-appropriate, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the setting. Daily checks, clear procedures, and ongoing staff training ensure that we are always prepared and responsive. We encourage children to keep themselves safe too, helping them build awareness and confidence as they grow. By working closely with families and following trusted guidance, we aim to provide a safe, calm, and caring environment where every child can thrive.

Safeguarding Children Policy:
Keeping children safe is our highest priority and underpins everything we do. We are committed to providing a secure, nurturing environment where every child feels protected, valued, and listened to. Our setting has clear safeguarding procedures in place, in line with current legislation and guidance. A designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) supports the team in responding to any concerns. All staff receive regular safeguarding training and understand their responsibility to remain vigilant. We follow safer recruitment practices and promote an open culture where any concerns can be raised confidently. Safeguarding is a shared responsibility between the nursery and families.Sleep and Safe CareWe recognise how important rest and sleep are for a child's wellbeing. Our approach is gentle, respectful, and tailored to each child's individual needs and routines. Children are supported to rest in a calm, comfortable, and closely supervised environment. We follow clear procedures and current guidance to ensure sleep times are safe, with regular checks. We work closely with families to maintain consistent sleep routines between home and nursery.

Absences and Attendance:
Regular attendance plays an important role in supporting children's development and sense of routine. We encourage consistent attendance. We ask families to inform us of any absence as soon as possible. In the event of a child not being collected as expected, we follow clear safeguarding procedures. We monitor attendance patterns and work in partnership with families where needed.

Medication and Illness:
We follow clear procedures for administering medication, only with prior parental consent. Our team is trained to manage medication safely and keep accurate records. We ask families to keep children at home if they are unwell, following the 48-hour rule for sickness and diarrhoea. We work closely with families on individual health needs, including allergies and medical conditions.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion:
We celebrate the uniqueness of every child and family. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcomed, respected, and valued. Through our curriculum, resources, and daily interactions, we promote positive attitudes, respect, and a strong sense of belonging.

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND):
We are committed to providing an inclusive environment where every child is supported to reach their full potential. We work closely with families to identify and support additional needs as early as possible. Individual support plans are used, and we partner with external professionals when appropriate.

CCTV:
We use CCTV within our setting as part of our commitment to maintaining a safe, secure environment. It is used responsibly and in line with data protection regulations.

Complaints:
We welcome open communication and encourage families to share any concerns as early as possible. Most matters can be resolved informally. We have a clear complaints procedure in place, and families also have the right to contact Ofsted at any stage.
